Marketing Consultant Shares Insights blog

I have always wanted to be a marketing manager. Started in the early 90’s, I wanted to achieve this position by the age of 30. This is my goal, and my expectation.

Marketers are able to progress quickly in the corporate environment in various ways. However, for those with no business upbringing, or simply do not have sufficient experience and qualifications, there are always new opportunities.

The marketing industry has changed significantly in the last few decades. When I started, Chief Marketing Officer (CMOs) did not exist. It is almost impossible for anyone in the marketing field to attain the C-suite. Today, CMO is exactly the positions that all marketers are aiming for. In the present, among board members and senior managers of large companies, there would always be someone that carries a marketing degree.

The next step is fixing it, which is actually the easiest part in many cases. Let’s take a look:

Confused about what is an CRM system? A CRM system is simple a way to organize your clients and prospective clients. Yes, an excel spreadsheet can be considered a CRM system, but for some an excel spreadsheet isn’t enough. This is when they turn to software such as Salesforce. A CRM system is important for several reasons; organization of contact details, keeping track of the sales pipeline, and making sure everyone is on the same page.
Marketing technology is an essential part of the marketing mix. To understand fully the implementations of various technology platforms, is hard and near impossible for most full-time marketing managers navigating today’s competitive landscape. [space height="HEIGHT"]
This week, we have been completing our yearly in-depth training sessions with our U.S. based team. That means reminding ourselves about all areas of marketing, and what role technology plays in powering marketing performance. [space height="HEIGHT"]
Like most seasoned marketers, we break up the marketing technology mix into six categories; marketing experiences, operations, middleware, platforms, infrastructure and internet.
Here I go blogging away, tweeting about my experiences, updating my facebook with “having a great day” and uploading photographs of a boozy night out with the gals.
