Marketing Eye Marketing Articles

In the past few weeks, we have been inundated with company’s needing their new businesses named or their current business renamed.

After sitting in on a meeting with some suppliers of marketing related products to one of my clients today, I was abruptly reminded of just how easy it is for good sales people to pursuade small businesses to use one product over another.

The pressure is on with the end of financial year, just days away.
This morning I was chatting to my creative director about a client. I was reminded that as a marketer, we often forget about the small things that make our client’s brands so special and unique because we are too busy doing rather than looking at the brand through pictures.
Have you ever felt exhausted just by the thought of all the things you have to do each day as a small business owner?
Who would have thought? As a person who much prefers plane travel to road travel, Mildura to me has always been the place where you can buy some nice wine from and where most transport companies travel through.
sexandthecityIf you haven’t heard that the latest Sex and the City movie is pretty ordinary, then you have been sleeping under a rock!

The storyline needs alot to be desired as the movie was nothing short of boring. I spent over 2 hours in the movie theatre watching a movie that I was absolutely dying to see, to be left bitterly disappointed.
Being the end of the financial year, it is important for small businesses to leverage off the close of another financial year period.

Watching A Current Affair with Tracey Grimshaw this evening, I began to wonder what people would think watching the article on starting an online business.

Aimed at targeting women that have left the workforce to become mothers, there were endless stories of women that have been highly successful building an online business.

It’s sad but true. Some people, no matter what good intentions they have, will never be successful.
In a rush – too much work to do!

Grow, grow, grow

How do they do it? It’s a question that all entrepreneurs ask themselves at one stage or another. We see companies all the time that are in our space and they have grown phenonomenally over a short period of time. Sometimes they then fall flat and other times, they keep going. The latter is harder to achieve.

mmm… chocolate

Yesterday I met with the delightful owners of Sisko Chocolate. They have this incredibly cute store in Hawthorn that is accompanied by a chocolate making facility that sculptures chocolate for special occasions – weddings, corporate gifts, fathers day, mothers day – you name it.

Whilst many Australian’s think chocolate is a Cadbury bar, those in the know know that it is so far from the case – it is ridiculous. Chocolate is a real art and here is a talented duo, in Melbourne, that are making a big impact.

Check them out on www.siskochocolate.com.au – they are a MARKETING EYE’S DREAM CLIENT!
