Marketing Consultant Shares Insights blog

Are you still searching for that perfect time to post online? Each platform has its own prime time and lucky for you, we’ve done our research and know exactly when you should be posting.
What time should you be posting online?

Twitter

When’s the best time to tweet? You are guaranteed to get higher traction, increased click through rates and higher retweets when you post between 1 and 3pm and at 5pm throughout the week. If you’re looking to target your followers, use Twitter Analytics to find tailored times to suit your current twitter audience. On any given day, your average brand should be tweeting at least 3 times a day, with B2B brands tweeting anywhere up to 14 times a day!

Note: B2B brands tend to perform better on twitter throughout business hours while B2C brands tend to perform better on weekends.

Facebook

What time should you be posting on Facebook? You will always gain the greatest audience reach between 1 – 4pm towards the end of the week and on weekends.
While it’s defiantly good to spread your content out throughout the week, some of the best days and times include:
  • Wednesday at 3pm
  • Thursday and Friday between 1-4pm
  • Saturday and Sunday between 12-1pm
The Insights Bar on your brand page on Facebook will show you when your specific page followers are most active throughout the day.

Note: Posts made at 3pm are more likely to increase your click through rates, whilst posts at 1pm, are likely to result in higher likes and shares.

Instagram

Engagement levels across Instagram are generally steady 24/7 due to the fact that millions of photos are shared simultaneously and around 1.2 billion likes on average are made on a daily basis.

LinkedIn

The best time to post on LinkedIn might actually shock you! The most optimal time is actually mid-week between 5-6pm. Other prime time slots fall between 7:30-8:30am and 12pm during the week. Monday and Friday are the least effective days to post so try to avoid these days! Log onto LinkedIn Analytics to review which days and times you received the most traction.

Note: LinkedIn is highly treated like the newspaper and tends to be read by white-collar workers in the morning on their commute to work.

Google

Many people actively using Google are just lurkers and generally have no interest in interacting with content. Regardless, weekdays between 9-11am are the prime times to post on this platform. Research shows that Wednesday morning around 9am is the best specific time to post.

Note: Timing is a fantastic program which allows you to monitor live tracking of your audience online so you know that your content is at least being seen!
