I can’t remember feeling truly excited about something that actually gives me butterflies in the bottom of my stomach. It’s been a long, long time between drinks and today that is all about to change.
Unlike most people on a beautiful Sunday in Sydney, I am sitting with a friend and client discussing goals – business and personal.
What do I want to achieve out of my business? How big do I want to grow my business? What does that picture actually look like? Who is going to be in that picture? What outcome do I expect?
Putting together the puzzle is as exciting as actually achieving it.
The problem is actually making it happen. When it comes to business and setting goals, I like to pull out of my bookshelf a copy of Verne Harnish’s Mastering the Rockefeller Habits. It’s a great guide for business and goal setting and helps put structure around what your business looks like now and how you would like it to look in the future.
Importantly, creating a blueprint of all aspects of your business will help guide your business decisions and act as a buffer for setting monthly and yearly goals.
Marketing of course, is imperative to business growth because without it, your brand won’t transition itself into the bigger picture and be deeply intrenched in the mindsets of your target market and employees.
What book do you use to motivate and guide you to reach your goals? Please share… I’m interested!
