A catalyst for many things in life is change. Do we want change, or do we want to keep doing the same things we've always done. You know that saying "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." Tony Robbins nailed it with that one and I hear it over and over again, only to be reminded of how true this saying really is.
Don't be afraid to give up the good for the great. Kenny Rogers.
Often in life, we are so afraid of what might be, and this is the biggest obstacle anyone who wants the most out of life has to deal with. What if? Why? Why not? I lay down sometimes and think about things in no particular order, but in general about life and the people who impact mine personally.
They often give me praise and build me up, and sometimes, a little criticism only aimed at personal growth and development. Today, I spoke with my mentor and we talked about this guy I met. He gave me some advice to the effect that it is passing, don't get too caught up in it as that's not the one for you. He isn't as clever as you or as sharp. Someone who spends too much time second guessing isn't on your page. "We" don't make decisions like that.
It was funny as I too thought the same, but being reminded of such can be taken in too ways; I could ignore it or I could take the advice on board.
Never give up on what is possible.
On the same token, you have to look at the big picture in life and what you really are trying to achieve, with whom and with what instruments or tools at your disposal. I look at my glass half full. I dream of an amazing life, much of which I already live. I believe that anything is possible, you just have to put in the hard yards, roll up your sleeve, be prepared for a few knocks and never lose sight of what is possible. If you fail, find another way. Don't give up ever.
If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you.
Do you want to stay the same? Are you looking to be socially with the exact same people ever single time you socialise? Are you even open to being put out of your comfort zone? Would you take a risk, that possibly may end in failure but if it doesn't, it's your very own pot of gold at the end? Challenges are there for us every day. When we are not challenged, we are perhaps not really living. We are existing. Is it wrong to dream big? Am I really that much of a day dreamer that I have not faced what reality really is? Did that one man that touched my face, and that was all it needed to be, make the biggest impression on my being of anyone before?
I'm not giving up. I'm just starting over.
Today, I am starting over afresh. What that means is that I am looking at the world differently. I am looking at people differently. I am re-writing my values, vision, hopes, dreams and aspirations. My bucket list I had yesterday has been binned. Today, it will be a new one, full of things that I may not have imagined ever before, but now find possible.
I am a new born, ready to explore, learn, play, fantasise and absorb every essence of what life has to give me. Every person I touch from this moment forward, no matter how long I have known them will be new. I will see them differently. My lens will be cleared and I will see them for who they are today, not who I thought they were or want them to be.
This is exciting. This will be challenging. This will be game changing and this is now my life.
