His book was on my bedside table alongside a book written about how he presents to an audience and engages them like no other.
My bucket list had him down as the person I would most like to do work experience for. Sadly, this will never happen.
Steve Jobs, the co-founder and former CEO of Apple, is among the greatest CEO's of his generation. He died yesterday, only 56 years old. It is indeed a sad day for anyone who was inspired by him or who knew him. After years of a highly publicised battle with cancer and other health issues, he stepped down as CEO of Apple in August and handed the reigns to his right hand man, Tim Cook. I was sad that day and even sadder today. Why? Because he inspired me more than any other businessman of his generation. I held on to his every word in every presentation I could possibly get a hold of. I read feverishly any story that was written about him. I wanted to know more, just like millions of others. I won't remember him for the iphone or ipad. I will remember him for the way he was able to touch me and the people around me with his passion for innovation.
This sad story reminds the world that no amount of money can buy you good health. This man had the admiration of the world-over and more money than he could ever spend in his lifetime or that of his childrens - but he could not buy good health. No-one can. Not Kerry Packer. Not Steve Jobs.
RIP Steve Jobs. Thank you for what you did in business and for the community. For inspiring us. We love you and will always remember you.
