A client of Marketing Eye last week asked for us to design a logo around their wife’s picture of a pelican.
Now, normally this could mean disaster for a number of reasons. Often company’s come to branding experts with a fixed opinion without taking into consideration the market they are targeting and the type of audience that will need to see the brand.
Fortunately, in this particular case, the wife is an artist and an incredibly talented one at that!
Her design was easy to incorporate turning the company Foreshore Marine into a rustic, original identity piece that is all about the ocean – which might I add, makes sense because of it’s name.
Foreshore Marine is one of Australia’s most successful marine construction companies building bridges, marinas and barges for many of Australia’s leading ports.
They had a website years ago, but got most of their business from word of mouth. They couldn’t get the name foreshoremarine.com.au at the time because someone else in an unrelated business had it. The thing with domain names is you should keep trying because sometimes they come up and are not renewed. I renewed this name for them the other day and now they not only have a new brand, but a new website on the way.
