I'm so busy right now. I am working very long hours and am in the office each morning before the sun rises. Not that I want to complain. I am doing something that I an incredibly passionate about and every single part of my business is going ballistic, so it's "time" to take it all the way.
When things go a big 'crazy' I call in the experts - my mentors. I ask them what they think about what I am doing and whether or not they think it will be successful. It's like having an educated bouncing board that have been there and done that.
No-one ever became successful by sitting back. Putting myself out there has only been something that I am comfortable doing on this blog, but from this point forward you will see a very different Mellissah Smith. One that isn't afraid to show the world just what is going on in the inside and how much we as a team at Marketing Eye are taking the business to a level we all never thought imaginable.
It's a team effort and impossible to do by myself.
It took me years to understand working as a team and not holding all the responsibility on my own shoulders.
We are currently moving office in Sydney, Australia. Actually, we are down to the wire. I am really thrilled to say that the incoming CEO of Marketing Eye just took the whole project in her own hands with the CTO who has been with me for years, and have found a number of places to move into. Today is "D" day but they will ultimately make all the decisions themselves. I won't have a role in it as to me its up to them where they want to work and they know better than anyone just what our brand means to us.
While this is happening be are building 5 of our own technology projects. One is a global game-changer and more exciting than anything I have ever done before. I desperately want to work in that business as I believe it is the future.
The other four makes our own business the clear leader globally in delivering marketing services to small to medium sized businesses, educating them and giving them complete and utter transparency like they have never had before.
While all this has happened, I made a promise to the community of Charters Towers, a small town in rural North Queensland, Australia. I am going to build an incubator to help people with smart business ideas develop them with the help of mentors, training and development, education and connections. We are focused on helping 10 to 15 entrepreneurs take their business idea and make it a reality.
My time is divided but I know that there is never a better time than when you are busy to get things done. To make a difference to a community in need. To change outcomes and give people hope and jobs and a belief they they can do anything.
So here's to Charters Towers. I will soon be asking for your donations to the not-for-profit to help this small town become the rural entrepreneur centre of Australia.
