It's worked a treat and my lifestyle hasn't changed, but I have some bigger moves to make now and may need investment.
Fortunately for me, I have friends who are always willing to help out and also are aware of the bigger picture.
Now it's time to get the business into shape. No-one wants to sell off a percentage of their company if they have been wasting cash left, right and centre - because they can.
I am now looking into where I can save costs across the entire business and it's funny the areas that you don't really look at. In fact, I am finding that many of the consultants that we call in are forgetting to as well.
I called in a company called RD Direct to look at our telecoms needs and if we have in fact have the services to best suit our business. I kind of know we don't. Internet constantly causes us problems and our cell phones are forever dropping out.
He didn't come in with a 'sales spiel' about saving costs. He came in asking me what I wanted to do with my business and how successful I hoped to become. What were the needs of our people to help drive that success? If the internet is down, what is the cost to the business? If phone calls drop out, what does that cost in terms of customer relationships?
I was very surprised by these questions as they were unexpected but really relevant. To a mid-sized company it's imperative that we are sharper in the way we operate.
Not only do RD Direct not charge for their services, they are completely unbiased to any carrier and therefore we no longer have to have internal people sitting on the phone complaining about service or billing, as they will do it all for us.
Who would have thought? What an easy solution. I highly recommend, RD Direct. They are awesome.
