You wake up, get ready, and set out for your day. You love what you are wearing and you’ve got a great cup of coffee in your hand. You’re thinking it is going to turn out to be a pretty good day. And then you hit it, traffic. Every morning, without fail, there is traffic somewhere in the city. Seeing those brake lights light up can be one of the most frustrating things.
The stops and gos can be agonizing. There is always one person who speeds up anytime there is a little break just to slam on their breaks again. Don’t they know that only makes traffic worse. If there could just be a steady pace it wouldn’t be so bad.
If there is an accident you better get comfy, because it takes police forever and a day to clear it off the roads. And forget about those little fender benders that just stop right in the middle of a lane instead of moving off to the shoulder. No, let’s just make everyone move around us and cause major traffic. When you commute to work traffic just puts a damper on things. And you could leave earlier, but then you end up getting to work super early. I suppose you could always take a nap in your car, but still it’s an inconvenience.
Luckily there are some ways you can make your commute a little more bearable. Having a buddy to carpool with provides you with some company on your daily commute. It gives you someone to talk about your day with and take your mind off of traffic. However if you like being alone or don’t live near anyone to carpool with, there are still things that can help like audiobooks or podcasts. They help fill the silence and you can pick topics that really interest you.
In the world we live in today, it is impossible to avoid traffic. It’s everywhere we go. And those of us who face it on a daily basis on our way to work can really get annoyed. Try to use that time to relax and unwind, I know it can be hard with all the crazy people out. Just think about where you are going, whether it be the office or home, and know it will all be over soon.
